It’s fascinating how ten years ago DC was trying so hard to reduce Lois’ importance to the Superman’s myths, but not only the marriage came back stronger in the comics (with a son), the other media (animation, TV, movies) have been treating them as an inseparable duo.
Like, for the the first time ever, they were cast at the same time! (Before, who’d play Clark was announced first and Lois’ actress a couple months later.)
Are you kidding me? Stupid Clarence Rhinobutt won? Riddenbach, yes, but believe me, I am planning to write a very strongly worded letter– “Lois Lane deserves to be celebrated.” Who would you even send that to? Just leave that to me and prepare to be celebrated. I know where we should get married. Babe, we can’t afford the Press Club’s Reception Hall. But we can afford your parents’ farm. Really? Yeah, just you and me and our closest friends and family in the place that raised the love of my life. My mom’s going to be so excited.— Superman and Lois 3x09 “The Dress”
